Granite / Cedar Table

There is a stunning contrast between the reflecting granite and flowing cedar.  The wavy nature of the grain gives the table base its character, and this was highlighted in the shaping of the legs.
The table-top is a thick piece of Baltic Pink granite, which puts the 162 year age of the cedar into perspective.  Reckoned on being one thousand five hundred million years old, making this igneous stone from Finland about the oldest on the planet.
